Minnesota High School Finalist Jennie Novak Verbally Commits to UConn

Jennie Novak, a sprint freestyler and IMer from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, has made a verbal commitment to the University of Connecticut for 2017-18.

Novak is a senior at Eden Prairie High School, where she swims for Kelly Boston. At the 2015 MSHSL Girls AA Swim & Dive Championships, Novak scored fifth in the 200 IM (2:05.24) and swam on all three of Eden Prairie’s relays. She anchored the 11th-place 200 medley relay in 23.92, went 24.32 on the 7th-place 200 free relay, and led off the 400 free relay in 53.02.

Novak swims year-round with Aquajets Swim Team under Kate Lundsten. She competed in the 50/100m free, 100/200m breast, and 200/400m IM at the Brown Deer Sectionals, finishing out the year with personal-bests in the 100/200 free and 200/400 IM.

  • 100 free – 52.75
  • 200 IM – 2:05.24
  • 400 IM – 4:31.89
  • 200 breast – 2:23.17

Novak will join New York’s Emma Corby in the UConn class of 2021.
