Nova of Virginia’s Miranda Fellowes will be heading down south next season, as she’s just given her verbal commitment to join the Florida Atlantic University women next season. Fellowes will make the move to Florida from Virginia after she graduates from Glen Allen High School at the end of this school year.
Last season, Fellowes was a qualifier for the 2016 NCSA Spring Junior Nationals, where she qualified to swim the 50 free, 100 back, 200 back, and 100 breast. At that meet, she clocked new best times in the 200 back (2:06.20) and 200 IM (2:08.98).
Fellowes also went on to post best times in the 100 breast (1:06.89), 200 breast (2:25.95), and 100 back (56.73) throughout the 2015-16 season.
Fellowes’ Top Times:
- 50 free- 24.45
- 100 free- 53.65
- 100 back- 56.73
- 200 back- 2:06.20
- 100 breast- 1:06.89
- 200 breast- 2:25.95
- 200 IM- 2:08.98
When she joins the Owls next fall, Fellowes should have an immediate scoring impact for the team at the C-USA Championships. Her personal best time of 56.73 is already fast enough to have scored in the B-final at the 2016 C-USA meet, and is within tenths of what it took to make the championship final in that race. Additionally, her best times would’ve been good enough to make the C-final in the 200 back, 100 breast, 200 breast, 200 IM, and 50 free.
