4x OH Champ, State Record-Holder Crile Hart Verbally Commits to Kenyon

Kenyon College Ladies swimming and diving team landed a big in-state fish when four-time Ohio state champion Crile Hart verbally committed to the class of 2021. Hart swims for Hawken School in Cleveland, Ohio, as well as the club team Lake Erie Silver Dolphins.

“From the start I felt like I belonged at Kenyon! The coaches really made that bond feel stronger! The balance between swimming and academics was exactly what I was looking for! It’s close to home and I can’t wait for my family to be able to cheer me on as a Lady!”

Hart is the reigning Ohio State High School Division II champion in the 200 IM. She has won the event for the last three years in a row, and holds the D2 state tournament and the D2 state record (2:00.49) in the event. She was runner-up in the 100 breast in 2016 (1:04.20), after having won the event in 2015 and having placed fourth in 2014. She has two siblings on the Hawken swim team with her this year: Zeb Hart (junior), and Bainon Hart (freshman). “I can’t wait for the season ahead with both of them!” she told SwimSwam.

Top SCY times:

  • 200 IM – 2:00.49
  • 50 back – 27.08
  • 100 back – 56.41
  • 200 back – 2:00.80
  • 100 breast – 1:03.78
  • 50 free – 24.02
  • 100 free – 50.84

Hart is a big get for the Ladies, who finished second in the team standings at NCAA Division III Championships last year, 84 points behind Emory. Hart would have won the 200 IM, and been an A finalist in the 100 free. She would have scored in the B final of the 100 back and 100 breast. She will join fellow commits Julia Moran, Marissa Wolff, and Myanna Cook in the Kenyon College class of 2021.
