Sweden Announces Criteria For Its Talent Development Program

Sweden has announced its criteria and schedule for its Talent Development Program for the 2017 season.

You can find the full document (in its original Swedish) here. The program lays out events, camps and selection procedures for Sweden’s youth international teams. The listing of events includes some national and regional camps, the Stockholm Open, the European Youth Olympic Festival, European Junior Championships, Nordic Youth Championships and more.

A quick look at the events, laid out chronologically:

  • National and regional camps, February 10-12, 2017
  • Stockholm Open, April 8-11
  • European Junior Championships, June 28-July 2 (Netanya, Israel)
  • Nordic Youth Championships, July 8-9 (Faroe Islands)
  • European Youth Olympic Festival, July 23-29 (Gyor, Hungary)
  • Junior World Championships, TBD (Indianapolis, IN, USA)
  • National and regional camps, September 15-17

The Stockholm Open will serve as the selection meet for the European Youth Olympic Festival, European Junior Championships and Nordic Youth Championships.

Sweden has also released its qualifying standards for its main senior international meets, most notably the 2017 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. That meet will take place from July 23 through 30 of 2017. You can find those qualifying standards and more information on senior level meets by following this link.
