New Jersey-based sprinter Ann Foley will be making the move to Pennsylvania next season, as she’s given her commitment to join the Lehigh University Mountain Hawks. Foley will head to Lehigh after graduating from Paul Vi High School at the end of this school year. She currently trains club with the Jersey Wahoos, and her best events are the sprint freestyles.
Last season, Foley qualified to swim both sprint free races at the 2016 New Jersey Public State Team Tournament. She was a championship finalist at that meet, placing 4th in the 50 free and 18th in the 100 free. That was a big improvement from her performance at the 2015 New Jersey state meet, where she finished 33rd in the 50 free.
Foley’s Top Times:
- 50 free- 23.73
- 100 free- 52.04
- 200 free- 1:56.01
- 100 fly- 1:00.41
When she arrives as a freshman at Lehigh, Foley will compete for the Mountain Hawks at the Patriot League Championships. She should have an immediate scoring impact for the team in the sprints, as she’s already fast enough to have scored in the B-final of both the 50 free and 100 free at the 2016 Patriot League meet.
