Futures Finalist Mary Traylor of Nitro Commits to Gardner-Webb

Mary Traylor, a senior at Round Rock High School in Austin, Texas has verbally committed to swim for Gardner-Webb University. Traylor swims for Nitro Swimming in Austin, Texas and is a member of their National Team. Her specialty events are the 200 fly and 200 back.

“I instantly felt at home at Gardner-Webb and knew this is where I should be. I immediately fell in love with the team and the coaches. Gardner-Webb is a place where I can grow in my faith, swimming and academics. Go Bulldogs!!!”

Traylor had a big junior year, making significant strides in her top events. The culmination of her short course season was the College Station Sectionals, during which she made finals in the 200 back, 200 fly, 200 IM, and 400 IM and earned PBs in the 200y back, 200m back and 200y fly. The following week she competed at American Short Course Championships, where she was a B finalist in the 200 back and 100/200 fly, and a C finalist in the 100 back and 200 IM.

Traylor continued to post personal-bests throughout the summer. She qualified for the B finals of the 200 back and 200 fly at Austin Sectionals, then placed 5th in the 200m fly at Austin Futures. Her best SCY times with their year-over-year improvements are:
