Ever Wonder Why You Should Swim in College? Assumption’s Video Is Why

Have you ever wondered if you should keep swimming after high school? Not really sure you want to put in the effort? Getting up at oh-dark-hundred for morning practice? Dedicating weekends to the sport? Smelling like chlorine all the time? Don’t know if it’s really worth it?

The women’s swimming and diving team of Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts just gave us all the reason why we should keep going, why college swimming is indeed worth it: the team is your college family!

The Greyhounds, who compete in the Northeast-10 Conference of NCAA Division II, made a YouTube video to welcome their newest member: Lauren Kuhns of Homer High School in Homer, Alaska. Kuhns is a mid-distance freestyler who recently signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Greyhounds next year. She swims the 200/500 free double in high school, and was 9th and 6th in those respective events at the Alaska State Meet during her junior year. One thing is clear in the video: the Assumption women’s team is excited to welcome Kuhns to the program and can’t wait until she suits up in Greyhound gear.

Here’s to hoping all high school swimmers find a college swimming family that is as welcoming as Assumption College is to Kuhns.
