Grafton’s Nebraska commit Autumn Haebig topped off her high school career with a fourth Wisconsin High School Division 2 State Championship in the 500 free, clocking in with a Division 2 state record 4:47.79. Though Haebig also took a state championship in a record 54.65 in the 100 backstroke (and her name now sits atop four state records), Edgewood High School emerged victorious in the point standings with 337 points.
Leading the Edgewood team was diver Ginger Lingard, who closed out her high school career by becoming the third diver in Wisconsin state championships history to win four championship titles with 498.90. On the swimming side, junior Kelly Rodriguez led the charge, defending last year’s 200 free title with 1:49.41. She also played anchor on the winning Edgewood 200 free relay, alongside Kaitlyn Barth, Maeve O’Driscoll, and DeeDee Walker (1:36.60).
Sophomore stand-out Alexandra Moderski led the McFarland team to second place with her 23.09 50 free victory.
Meanwhile, Haebig’s Grafton team came up third with victories from fellow senior Mallory Fox, an Iowa commit, in the 100 free (51.18), and the 200 medley relay team of Haebig, Emma O’Brien, Fox, and Olivia Konzen with 1:46.13.
The 100 breaststroke came to a thrilling conclusion with a tie between Rhinelander’s senior Liberty commit Kiah Francis and junior Jenna Silvestri from Kohler/Sheboygan Area Lutheran. The pair finished in 1:04.09
Rhinelander also picked up a victory from Francis in the 200 IM (2:03.30)
New Berlin Eisenhower’s Bella Passamani rounded out the meet victories with a win in the 100 fly in 57.50.

Fantastic to watch Autumn’s performances. One note, Bella Passamani’s winning time was 56.25 – the time noted was also her seed time.
It looks like the McFarland team underperformed with Alex Moderski and Marissa Wolff, two of their top swimmers adding time in this meet to previous best times.
What a great meet to watch! Edgewood dominated the meet and it was suchh a fantastic ending of a high school career for Autumn. The Wisconsin swim fans were so into the meet… it was really special.
Fun meet to watch!
Just a correction: Kiah Francis’s 200 IM time was actually a 2:03.30. The time stated in the article was her seed time.
