Oregon Sprinter Micah Masei Signs NLI to Swim at University of Hawaii

Micah Masei of Salem, Oregon has signed an NLI to swim at the University of Hawaii beginning in the 2017-18 season. Masei is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American from West Salem High School.

Masei led West Salem to a fifth-place team finish at the 2016 OSAA 6A Swimming State Championships. He was runner-up in the 50 free (21.38) and finished fourth in the 100 breast (58.21). He also led off the state-champion 200 free relay (21.91) and anchored the runner-up 400 free relay (47.09).

In club swimming Masei competes for Corvallis Aquatic Team. He is a Winter Juniors qualifier in the 100 breast, and a Sectionals finalist. He tends to specialize in the sprint frees and breast, but extends his range to the 200 free and 200 breast as well.

  • 50 free – 21.38
  • 100 free – 48.37
  • 200 free – 1:48.52
  • 100 breast – 57.53
  • 200 breast – 2:11.53
