ONE – Goggle Marks

They are inevitable and they suck. That’s all there is to be said about that.

TWO – Unique Tan Lines

Multiple different skin tones and patterns: one for each activity we’ve done that week. Practicing outside, going to the beach, lifeguarding, you name it. In the summertime, our backs are like works of art.

THREE – Wet Hair

I love when people ask me in winter why my hair is wet. Why didn’t I blow dry it? It’s too cold out to have wet hair. Hm, maybe because I just ran here from practice.

FOUR – Advanced Multiplication Tables

You know when you’re 7 and they make you memorize the multiplication tables 1-12, like 3×4, 4×4, 5×4, etc.? We can multiply 25 by almost anything in seconds. 8×25? 200. 20×25? 500. Need I go on?

FIVE – Length Estimates

Ever needed to roughly measure about 50 meters? That looks about the length of a long course pool.

SIX – When people complain about waking up early

My favorite is when people in my 8 & 9:30 AM classes turn to me and complain that they had so much trouble waking up this morning because it’s so early. Meanwhile, we’ve done an entire workout before they even woke up. Repeat after me, people. 8 AM is NOT early.
