Peribonio To Represent Ecuador At Short Course Swimming Championships

University of South Carolina swimming junior Tomas Peribonio will represent Ecuador in the 2016 FINA World Swimming Championships (25M) in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

The meet will begin December 6 and run through December 11. The WFCU Centre will house the meet.

Peribonio will compete in four events during his time at the short course world championships, including the 100m IM, 200m IM, 400m IM and 200m freestyle.

He currently holds six Ecuadorian national swimming records, including the 400m freestyle, 200m IM, 400m IM, 100m backstroke and 200m backstroke. The short course world championships will be Peribonio’s first-ever short course meet.

Peribonio has posted six top-three finishes throughout three meets this fall, including first place finishes in the 400-yard IM, 200-yard freestyle and 20-yard IM.
