Xavier Men’s Swimming Honored At Ohio House Of Represenatives

The three-time BIG EAST Champion Xavier’s men’s swimming program was honored by the Ohio House of Representative for its sustained excellence in the BIG EAST Conference on Wednesday afternoon.

Members of the men’s team visited the Ohio Statehouse where the Musketeers were honored on the floor during the Ohio House Session and presented with a resolution celebrating the team’s success over the past three seasons.

Xavier won a third-straight BIG EAST Championship in February 2016, topping second place Georgetown by a final score of 832-781. The Musketeers won eight individual championships as well as four of the five relays to secure the win.

In February 2015, Xavier took the top spot in 14 of 18 racing events at the BIG EAST Championship to finish with an over 140-point advantage on second place Georgetown.

In February 2014, men’s swimming became the first Xavier program to win a BIG EAST Championship, collecting an over 200-point advantage over the next closest team throughout the four-day competition.

The Musketeers were honored by State Representative for the 31st House District, Denise Driehaus. Alicia Reece, the Ohio House Representative for the 33rd District, was also on hand to honor the Musketeers.
