Moritz Fath Earns Second Consecutive A-10 Weekly Honor

George Washington men’s swimming and diving’s Moritz Fath has garnered his second-consecutive Atlantic 10 weekly honor after being named A-10 Rookie of the Week on Tuesday.

A week ago, the newcomer earned A-10 Co-Rookie of the Week distinction after making his collegiate debut.

Fath helped the Colonials defeat Old Dominion in the regular-season finale on Saturday, claiming two individual victories while helping GW post a second-place relay finish.

The Haslach, Germany, native first won the 200-yard freestyle, clocking in at 1:31.24. Fath later triumphed in the 500 free after touching the wall in 4:41.83. To close the meet, the rookie served as the opening leg on GW’s second-place finishing 400 free relay team (3:05.77).

Fath and the Colonials will next compete at the 2017 A-10 Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio, beginning on Feb. 15.
