Nunn came into the meet seeded first in the event with a 1:00.04, .62 faster than the old NCAA meet mark of 1:00.66, set by Kayla Scott of Wayne State in 2014. Nunn went out in a fairly conservative 28.71 but came back in 31.83 to lower the mark by .12.
