Katinka Hosszu enters again all finals on day 3 at Hungarian Nationals

The third day of the competition starts with the men’s 100m freestyle – Peter Holoda clocked a 49,38 and is the #1 seed for finals – and the only man under 50 seconds in the morning heats.

On the women’s site, Evelyn Verraszto hits the wall in a time of 55,23 in the 100m freestyle, the next-fastest swim in the morning heats came from Katinka Hosszu in 55,61. Youngster Fanni Gyurinovics (born 2001) showed a fast performance, finishing in 55,93.

Gabor Balog took the top spot for the men’s 100m backstroke final in 56,31. Katalin Burian clocked a 1:02,85 for the women’s top seed, followed by Olympic Champion Katinka Hosszu in a relaxed 1:02,90.

Hungarians breaststroke star Daniel Gyurta checked in with a solid 1:01,31 in the 100m distance, he won the 200m breaststroke at the 2012 Olympic Games but failed to make the final in Rio. He won the 200m breaststroke on Wednesday in 2:09,72, a top 15 time in the 2017 FINA world ranking, respectively. Daniel Gyurta took off 3 months after Rio and changed coaches.

15-year old Reka Vecsei swam the swiftest morning 100m breaststroke time in 1:09,26 for the top spot in the women’s final.

As expected, Katinka Hosszu scored the top seed of the morning, registering a mark of 4:44,47 in the 400m IM ahead of Zsuzsanna Jakabos in 4:50,79. 16-year old Ajna Kesely will be in the third seed tonight in 4:51,77.

Peter Bernek clocked the fastest time in the 400m IM in 4:20,02 ahead of Gergely Gyurta, Daniel’s younger brother, in 4:21,77.

There was live broadcast on the first 3 days, unfortunately today there is no live broadcast, the races can be viewed recorded only after midnight (CET).
