Georgia Backstroker Allison Hunter Will Swim for Florida Southern

Kennesaw Mountain High School senior Allison Hunter has declared her intention to swim for Florida Southern College in 2017-18. Hunter swims for her school, and for Stingrays in Marietta, Georgia.

“Florida Southern has been my top school for two years and I have always been excited every time I visit! I have chosen Florida Southern because of the great coaches, amazing teammates, and the beautiful campus. I can’t wait for what the future holds for me at Florida Southern, Go MOCS!”

Hunter specializes in backstroke and sprint free, and represented Kennesaw Mountain High at the 2017 Georgia 6-7 A State Swimming & Diving Meet in the 50 free, 100 back, and 200 medley relay, the latter of which made the A final and placed ninth.

Her top SCY times are:

  • 50 back – 27.30
  • 100 back – 59.58
  • 200 back – 2:08.64
  • 100 fly – 59.81
  • 50 free – 24.94

The Mocs compete in the Sunshine State Conference of the NCAA’s Division II. The women finished third at the 2017 conference meet and qualified four swimmers (Peyton Breault, Haley Degrace, Krystal Karas, and Jacinda Whittenberg) and five relays for NCAAs.
