How Everyone Did

The women’s 400 free stood out as being both easy and hard to predict. 99% of entries correctly picked both Katie Ledecky 1st and Leah Smith 2nd; however, only 3% picked Sierra Schmidt 3rd and no one got Kaersten Meitz in 4th. The men’s 400 saw a flip of expectations. The most popular pick for 1st was 3rd (Townley Haas) and the most popular pick for 3rd was 1st (Zane Grothe). 55% had Grothe 3rd and 9% had him 1st. 55% had Haas 1st and 12% picked him 3rd.

The biggest first place upset on the night was Matt Grever’s win in the 100 back which only 3% got correct (97% favored Ryan Murphy).

The rest of the events mostly followed the script, except for Bethany Galat‘s 3rd in the 100 breast (no one got it), and Nick Fink’s 3rd in the 100 breast (1 person, well done Loggerhead).
