TAC Titans 10 And Under Girls Break Two State Records

Press Release courtesy of Lindsey Fano

This past weekend as part of an intra-squad meet, the Triangle Aquatic Center TITANS set new North Carolina state records in both the 10 and under girls 200m medley relay and 200m free relay.

Both relays were swum by Lilly Willis, Nicole Zettel, Taylor Cureton, and Meredith Whelehan.

The girls posted a time of 2:19.91 in the 200 medley relay which broke the previous state record set in 2002 by over five seconds. Their time is only .7 away from the National Age Group record.

In the 200 freestyle relay, the relay team swam a time of 2:06.66 dipping under the previous record by almost three seconds.

Head Coach Bruce Marchionda expressed that Coach Blake Addison continues to do a great job with our TAG 3 group and looks forward to watching this group of girls going after the national record in the 200 Medley relay.

The relay team will have another shot at lowering their own records in a few short weeks when the Triangle Aquatic Center hosts the North Carolina Age Group Championship on July 13th-16th.
