Wisconsin Reels in Verbal Commitment from Backstroker Holly Stoll

Holly Stoll, a rising senior at Arrowhead High School in Hartland, Wisconsin, has opted to remain in state and has verbally committed to the University of Wisconsin for 2018-19.

“Entitled to nothing, grateful for everything.”

When I read this written on the wall during my Junior day visit, I knew this was home for me. I’m very grateful for all the coaches and teammates (friends) who have helped me get to where I am today. I’m grateful for the coaches at Wisconsin for this tremendous opportunity to represent one of best universities in the country. Most importantly, I’m grateful for my family for all the support and guidance through the years.  With that, I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming and academic career at the University of Wisconsin.

“ON WISCONSIN!”

A USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, Stoll participated in the WIAA Girls Division 1 State Meet as a sophomore in the fall of 2015, where she was a top-8 finisher in the 200 IM and 100 back, and a member of Arrowhead’s 200 medley and 200 free relays, both of which placed second. She swims year-round for Schroeder YMCA Swim Team with whom she was a multiple-event finalist at the 2017 YMCA Short Course National Championships in April. Stoll competed in the 100/200 backstrokes and 200 IM at the 2016 AT&T Winter Championships, and in the LCM version of the same events at 2016 Summer Junior Nationals.

Top SCY times:

  • 50 back – 26.01
  • 100 back – 55.59
  • 200 back – 1:59.57
  • 200 IM – 2:03.39
  • 100 fly – 56.01

Stoll will join Alana Palmer, Lillie Hosack, and Margaret Guanci in the Wisconsin class of 2022.
