Recently Los Angeles has agreed to take the 2028 Olympic bid, instead of continuing to fight for the 2024 slot. With this occurring, it is likely that Paris, who was running against Los Angeles for the bid will receive the 2024 Olympic Games.

LA has hosted two prior Olympic Games, back in 1984 and 1932. With LA taking the 2028 bid, it will be the first time that the summer Olympics will return to North America for the first time since the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. The International Olympic Committee won’t officially announce their 2024 pick until September, but the LA 2028 deal could mark the decision to be made earlier.

LA has a rich history to it, with a number of top athletes being produced from this area. There is such a wide range of diversity in culture in LA that it is bound to make the 2028 Games special.
