Tennessee Earns Verbal Commitment from Butterflyer Mallory Beil

Mallory Beil, a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American from Dixie Heights High School in Edgewood, Kentucky, has verbally committed to the University of Tennessee for 2018-19.

“I am SO excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim at the University of Tennessee! I wouldn’t be here without the support of my family, friends, & coaches. Looking forward to joining the volunteer family!! GO VOLS!!! ??”

Beil placed third in the 100 fly (54.67) and sixth in the 200 free (1:51.47) at the 2017 Kentucky High School Athletic Association Swimming & Diving Championships. She split a 24.45 50 fly on the Dixie Heights 200 medley relay and a 52.04 on the end of the 400 free relay (both relays took 7th place), further contributing to the team’s 7th-place finish in the girls’ team standings.

Beil swims year-round with Northern Kentucky Clippers. She had an outstanding end to her short course season at the 2017 NCSA Spring Championship, where she placed 7th in the 200 fly and 33rd in the 100 fly, and picked up new times in the 50/100 free, 200 fly, and 200 IM. And that was just a couple weeks after swimming lifetime bests at the high school state meet. Beil’s long course season was equally successful; she wrapped up the summer with new times in the 100/200 fly and 400 IM at Columbus Sectionals.

SCY times:

  • 200 fly – 1:59.36
  • 100 fly – 54.67
  • 400 IM – 4:25.86
  • 200 IM – 2:05.74
  • 200 free – 1:51.47
  • 100 free – 51.31

Beil will join fellow verbal commits Danika Katzer, Hannah Foster, Katie Vasiloff, Sinclair Larson, and Trude Rothrock in the Volunteers’ women’s swimming and diving class of 2022.
