Friday’s action between the Aggies, Irish and Spartans starts at 4 p.m. CTand Saturday’s action begins at 10 a.m. CT. The Aggies and Irish will compete in a two-day dual meet on Friday and Saturday, while the Aggies and Spartans will clash in a conventional dual meet on Friday. Live results for both days will be available at: http://www.und.com/sports/c-swim/sched/nd-c-swim-sched.html

Texas A&M women’s head coach Steve Bultman said: “We’ll have our work cut out for us this weekend. I think Notre Dame surprised some people when they beat (No. 9) Louisville last week. They really swam well and if we’re not ready then we could be coming home not very happy with the results. I’m really looking forward to seeing where we are at this point in our training and I’m anxious to see our newcomers in their first dual meet.”

Texas A&M men’s head coach Jay Holmes said: “We’ve been working extremely hard since school start and now it’s time for our team to go race somebody; compete against somebody that’s not your own teammate. It’s the same at every level – the meet is always more fun than the practices. This is like a test – everybody in college has tests – but this is a test that all WANT to take. We want to see where we are. We know Notre Dame matches up with us very well and Michigan State historically has some quality individuals, as well. It’s going to be a great college dual meet and it’s going to be a real test for us.”

IN THE CSCAA RANKINGS:

The Texas A&M women’s team was ranked No. 5 and the Aggie men’s squad was No. 15 in the preseason 2017-18 Div. I polls by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

The Notre Dame women were ranked No. 25, while the Irish men came in at No. 15 in the poll. Michigan State was not ranked.
