Brian Copley has announced via social media that he made a verbal commitment to the University of Denver for 2018-19; Blayze Jessen and Finn Kennard-Campbell have also indicated they will be joining the Pioneers in the fall.

Copley is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American from The King’s Academy in Sunnyvale, California. He placed third in the 200 IM (1:50.42) and fifth in the 100 breast (57.02) at the 2017 CIF-Central Coast Section Championships; he also anchored the 200 free relay (21.21) and 400 free relay (47.31). Copley then went on to the California State Meet and took 13th in the 200 IM (1:51.49). After winning a swim-off for the last spot in the consolation final, he placed 15th in the 100 breast (57.37).
Copley swims year-round with Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics, where he is a Winter Junior Nationals qualifier in the 100/200 breast and 200/400 IM. He competed at the FINA/airweave Swimming World Cup 2017 #3 in Eindhoven, Netherlands in August, swimming the SCM 50/200 breast and 100/200 IM.
