Yale University will hire Jim Henry as their next women’s head coach, pending the completion of the appropriate paperwork and background checks, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation.
Henry recently rolled-out of Austin with the changing of the guard for the Longhorn women, where he was previously the Associate Head Coach, and he has now reportedly landed with the Bulldogs. In total, he spent 7 seasons on deck with the Longhorns; but before that he had an additional four as a Texas swimmer where he was an All-American.
This will be Henry’s 4th gig on the college circuit, after previous runs as the head coach at Denver as well as an assistant and recruiting coordinator at SMU during their dominant run in the late 90’s and early 2000’s
Henry takes over in New Haven, Connecticut for the recently-resigned Cristina Teuscher. Teuscher will be with Yale through the summer, before leaving to join the corporate world.

Great coach, better person. I too heard that he was holding the team together not just in the months after Brackin’s release, but throughout her tenure in Austin. Sad to see Jim leave burnt orange behind, but he is too good of a coach to not be using his talents somewhere. Yale made a great decision!
