Florida’s Jan Switkowski Named SEC Male Swimmer Of The Week

Male Swimmer of the Week
Jan Switkowski • Florida
Senior • Lublin, Poland

Switkowski recorded five top-two finishes against No. 2 Texas and No. 6 Indiana. His finishes in the 100 free (43.50), 200 free (1:34.59) and 200 fly (1:45.24) were all NCAA ‘B’ cut times, and he added a season-best split of 20.61 in the 200 medley relay.

Male Diver of the Week
Juan Celaya-Hernandez • LSU
Sophomore • San Nicolas de los Garza, Mexico

In a dual meet against host Pitt and No. 22 Virginia, Celaya-Hernandez won both springboard events. On Friday, he took first place in the 1-meter with a score of 361.45. On Saturday, Celaya-Hernandez won the 3-meter with a final score of 413.20.

Male Freshman of the Week
Camden Murphy • Georgia
Novi, Mich.

In Georgia’s wins at No. 25 Wisconsin and Northwestern, Murphy won three individual events and was on two winning relays. Against Wisconsin, he won the 100 butterfly in 47.54 and was third in the 50 freestyle in 21.35. Murphy also helped the 200 medley relay win in 1:30.27. Against Northwestern, he swept the 100 and 200 butterfly races in 48.19 and 1:47.11, respectively, and was second in the 200 individual medley in 1:53.30. Murphy helped the 200 medley relay win in 1:30.71.

Female Swimmer of the Week
Aly Tetzloff • Auburn
Junior • Crown Point, Ind.

Tetzloff won all three of her individual events in the dual meet with #5 Texas A&M. She won the 100 back (53.37), 100 fly (53.16) and 200 IM (2:00.43), all of which were NCAA ‘B’ cut times. Tetzloff’s 100 fly time is currently the fifth-fastest in the country and second in the SEC, while her 100 back time is currently 10th-fastest in the country.

Co-Female Divers of the Week
Lizzie Cui • LSU
Junior • Auckland, New Zealand

Cui won both springboard events against host Pitt and No. 13 Virginia. She the 3-meter event with a score of 360.60 on Friday, and then took the top spot in the 1-meter with a score of 293.85.

Julia Vincent • South Carolina
Senior • Johannesburg, South Africa

Vincent began the week at Purdue with a first-place finish in the 1-meter with a score of 298.95 and second place in the 3-meter with a score of 309.08. In South Carolina’s win at Cincinnati, Vincent won both events, with a score of 333.07 in the 1-meter and 370.35 in the 3-meter.

Female Freshman of the Week
Courtney Harnish • Georgia
York, Pa.

In Georgia’s wins at No. 12 Wisconsin and Northwestern, Harnish won four individual events and was on two victorious relays. Against Wisconsin, she won the 200 freestyle (1:48.31) and the 500 freestyle (4:45.72) and came in third in the 100 freestyle (51.36). Harnish anchored the 400 freestyle relay that won in 3:22.72. Against Northwestern, she claimed the 1,000 freestyle in 9:53.29 and the 200 backstroke in 1:59.10, while placing third in the 200 butterfly in 1:59.38. Harnish also helped the 400 freestyle relay win in 3:28.52.
