Yoav Bruck, a former Israeli three-time Olympic swimmer and Auburn Tiger, is under investigation by the IOC for violating rules related to ticket sales for the Olympic Games, according to the Jerusalem Post.
Bruck is the highest-profile member of a group of 27 ticket agents around the world that is accused of selling tickets in violation of IOC rules. Bruck’s company, Issta Sport, is the official ticket reseller for Israel and Cyprus.
The allegations are that Issta Sport, and many other companies, have agreed to sell tickets at inflated prices and to unauthorized ticket resellers.
The alleged scam was unveiled after undercover reporters claim to have agreed to buy 525 tickets for 66,000 pounds – well over face value – from Issta Sport.
In a statement to media, Issta Sport denied the claims, saying that it was “a haphazard and unreliable journalistic investigation”.
Bruck’s highest individual finish at the Olympics was in 1996 in Atlanta, where he was 22nd in the 100 free. He was also a part of the Israeli medley relay that made the final that same year. Aside from Auburn, he also spent time training under David Marsh at Las Vegas Gold.
