What a beautiful swim! Does the 15m rule not apply to breaststroke? How is this not a DQ?

Kelly – there is no 15 meter rule in breaststroke, long course or short course.

This race demonstrates how different the LC breaststroke is from the SC version. He didn’t have to take many breaststrokes because he was underwater for so long completing his turns.

It is an awesome feat to have the SCY records in 3 of the 4 strokes. That’s why he easily broke the 200 IM record by over a second.

I’d say this has still got a good 3 or 4 years. Don’t forget winter nats 2019… Dressel won’t be completely out of the scene

But yeah, Whitley’s closing 50 was the fastest in history. Scary stuff. Also hard to imagine how Dressels pullouts are better

Amazing swim for a non-breaststroker. It’s nice to see a successful breaststroke swim that doesn’t involve eight strokes per lap or sub-second tempo.
