Air Force senior Jinan Andrews became the third Falcon in the last four years to earn the Mountain West Conference Senior Award on the final day of the MW Championships, Saturday, Feb. 17, in San Antonio, Texas. Andrews was named the co-recipient, along with Nevada’s Sharae Zheng.
A native of Sussex, N.J., Andrews has earned Mountain West Scholar-Athlete and MW all-academic honors every year. She earned all-conference honors last season in the 100 free.
At this season’s conference meet, she swam the first leg of the 200 free relay that broke the school record. In that race, Andrews’ 22.95 is the second fastest 50 free in school history, earning her an NCAA “B” cut.
In the 800 free relay at this season’s conference meet, Andrews swam the first leg and her 200 free time of 1:49.41 is a personal best and the fourth fastest in school history.
A team captain this season, Andrews’ name is all over the Air Force record book, holding the second fastest time in the 50 free and 100 free, the fourth fastest in the 200 free and 200 IM and the sixth best in the 100 back.
