Curl Burke’s Cassidy Bayer continue to be on a roll in the last month, swimming her 4th different National Age Group Record race in as many weeks (across three events).
She put up a 28.23 (long course) at the Potomac Valley Swimming Junior Olympic Championships, which ties Dana Vollmer’s mark from 2000 as the 11-12 National Age Group Records.
Bayer now has tied or broken all three butterfly records in the age group, though the rest of this meet she’ll focus on other races and not swim the 100 or 200 butterflies.

Other record-breaking swims on Thurdsay night include a 1:57.60 from Machine Aquatics’ James Murphy in the 13-14 boys 200 free. That takes down a 30-year old Patomac Valley record that was set by Craig Ammon in 1982 at 1:57.64.
Impressive summer for Cassidy Bayer! It looks like the 100 fly is her best race. She has much speed.
