Team USA jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first quarter and a 7-1 advantage at halftime. They exploded for eight goals in the third quarter to put the match away, adding three goals in the fourth on the way to the 18-3 victory. Team USA went 7/17 on power plays and 1/2 on penalties with New Zealand going 2/10 on power plays and no penalty attempts.

Team USA got off to good start grabbing a 3-1 lead after the first quarter. The second quarter was even with each team delivering two goals before Australia surged ahead in the third with a four goal outburst. The Aussies outscored Team USA 2-1 in the fourth quarter to take a one goal victory.
The United States went 7/13 on power plays and did not attempt a penalty while Australia went 3/6 on power plays and 1/2 on penalties. Melissa Seidemann (Walnut Creek, CA/Stanford/NYAC) drew seven exclusions in the match.
