LSU Adds Canadian Diver Aimee Wilson To Incoming Class Of 2018

Press Release courtesy of LSU Athletics

The LSU swimming and Diving team’s co-head coaches Dave Geyer and Doug Shaffer announced the signing female diver Aimee Wilson Monday afternoon. Wilson will join the Class of 2018 and is the Tigers’ 11th signee.

A native of Calgary, Alberta, Wilson has been a member Canadian Junior National Team since 2014. In January, at the Canadian National Championships, Wilson took third on one-meter and fourth on three-meter.

“Aimee has a huge upside and will make an immediate impact on our program on three levels,” said LSU diving head coach Doug Shaffer. “She is extremely talented, a very hard worker and has a great attitude who is always focused on the end result.  She will be competitive at the SEC and national level and I can’t wait to begin working with her. When I look at the returning divers and this new freshman class of 2018 I’m excited for the possibilities. This could very well be the most talented and deepest diving squads I’ve had in my career at LSU!”

Wilson will be joining a talented women’s diving team that includes Rileigh Knox, Makayla Robillard, and four-time All-American Lizzie Cui.
