2018 INDIANAPOLIS PRO SWIM SERIES

The third and final preliminary session will go off this morning from the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, as the fourth stop of the TYR Pro Swim Series will feature the 200 fly, 100 breast, 100 back and 200 IM on the last day, in addition to the 800 freestyle. Drabot translates her huge 200 fly SCY season to LCM. It’s a new event for her so pretty impressive.
Finnerty definitely not a fast in-season swimmer. Not rested he’s very slow. He will deliver when it counts the most.
Interesting battles tonight with King vs maybe her successor Weiss and Eastin the SCY 200 IM Queen vs Margalis who is in stronger than ever.
Ruck should take the 100 back while Kalisz should win the 200 fly and 200 IM.
KL logically well under 8.10 in the 800 free. Let’s see how much under 8.10.

I’m going around 8:07-8:08. Her best splits in the 15”” put her around 8:06 but she’s had a ton of racing since then.

1st circle seeded heat of women’s 200 IM — lanes 5, 6, and 7 are empty. Feeling sorry for lane 8 out there swimming by herself.

Here we go again with scratches and no shows. Pro Series epidemic.

Honestly how hard is it for these athletes to scratch the event prior to heat sheets coming out?? It’s even worse when people enter and then don’t show up to the meet at all. It certainly is unfair to athletes when they are racing in heats with half of the entered swimmers missing…

Not to mention the handful of people it knocks into the B flight. The lack of respect for others by not turning in scratches is not something I like to see from the coaches and athletes. If this was NCAAs, you bet they would have taken the 15 seconds to walk over to the scratch table.

What do you mean new GOAT??? Farris surpassed Phelps Spitz other former legends and anyone who has yet to be born as the greatest ever the moment he was conceived.

KATIE DRABOT WOW 2:08.38 in season. Just what the U.S. could use this summer and leasing into Tokyo in the 200 butterfly. I think Eastin has a bit more in the tank for tonight.

Encouraging to see some depth developing in the W 200 fly… it’s been the weakest event on the women’s side for awhile now internationally, but I think we’ll see someone have a big breakthrough this summer or next.

It was by far her best event in the last NCAA season. A new event for her and boom 1.51.73 at NCAAs.
She just starts to translate that to LCM. More to come.

I wouldn’t go crazy, guys, because to be honest I’m guessing the high expectations may have did her in pre-budapest. I think a better assumption would be “last 400 sub 4:05” or something which would still be absurd

And to conclude my chain of thought: I’m just too tempted to say sub 8:03 so I’m gonna say sub 8:03 based on her 200-400-last 400 of 1500…which would make my brain explode for the record so send an EMT to my apt

Your maths is terrible . 8 20.4- 8.07 = 8.13.4 . Her 800 split was 8.11.7 & her 700 split was 8.10.1 .

In actual fact it was 8 .10.3 which of course is excellent but hey , swimmers know incrementals .
