Will Goodwin of Centennial, Colorado has announced he plans to spend his collegiate swimming career at the University of Missouri in the class of 2023.

I’d like to thank my coaches, teammates, friends, and family for I wouldn’t be here without them. Mizzou has everything I need to improve both as a student athlete and a person. Go tigers!”
Goodwin is currently a junior at Regis Jesuit High School and was a major contributor to the Raiders’ breathtaking victory over Fossil Ridge at the 2018 CHSAA 5A Boys Swim-Dive State Championship last month. He was runner-up in the 200 IM (1:48.22) and 100 breast (55.80) and swam legs on the winning 200 medley and 400 free relays. His performances earned him first team all-state honors in all four events.
Goodwin swims year-round with University of Denver Hilltoppers. A USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and NISCA All-American, he competed in the 100/200 breast and 200/400 IM at 2017 Winter Juniors West; he also swam the backstroke leadoffs on both TOPS’ medley relays. At the Super Sectionals hosted by Longhorn Aquatics he went lifetime bests in the 200 back, 100/200 breast, 100 fly, and 200 IM (although he lowered his PBs in the 100 breast and 200 IM the following month at the high school state meet).

The appeal is they have gone from nothing prior to 2013, to placing 16th, 11th, 8th & 9th at NC’s the next four years. Coaches like Greever’s and Gangloff, one of the best pools in the nation and great academics all make for a great place to swim. They get great mid-season times because they want to get their cuts then and not at SEC’s, this way they can train through SEC’s and get ready for NC’s. They don’t care about placing high at SEC’s like the Gators, Dogs, Tigers (Auburn) and others. Not to mention the overall “family-like” environment of the team. I know many swimmers and divers who committed to Mizzou that did not know much about them prior to their trip and were by the sold by the feeling they got while they were there from both the coaches and the team. It’s pretty important you love where you are for the next four years.
It’s a pretty amazing combination of everything.
Is there a misprint with the altitude adjustment? I do not believe a 0.1s correction for the 100 breast and a 1.2s correction for the 200IM.
USA Swimming doesn’t allow for adjustments for the 100s, although NISCA (high school swimming) does. The USA Swim adjustment for all 200s is 1.2 seconds for the altitude in Denver. http://www.pacswim.org/~pacswim/userfiles/kcfinder/files/altitude.pdf
“Altitude adjusted” is almost as good as “still growing” or “and improving”

What’s the appeal of Missouri? They have some nice mid-season times but don’t produce when it counts!
Scoring at NCs, with relays, and helping swimmers make national teams might be the draw…
