NBC: Lochte Decides to Stay in Florida with Troy (For Now)

NBC Sports’ Jason Devaney is reporting that after speaking toRyan Lochte’smanager Erika Wright, it seems as though Lochte will be staying in Gainesville and training with Olympic head coach Gregg Troy, for now.

We checked with Lochte’s manager Thursday about the move and she confirmed that it’s not in the cards – for now.

That’s a deviation from when Lochte was in London, where he sold his house in Gainesville with the intent of moving to train in Southern California (among other things, including pursuing a Hollywood persona).

Lochte had said his original motivation for moving was to try something new: so the question becomes if he and Troy will try something new, or if they’ll go back to the total-beatdown in-season with a monster taper at year’s end.

Also of note for Lochte: for every pair of his self-branded sunglasses sold through his website RyanLochte.com between now and October 15th, he will donate $5 back to the Water for People organization that he’s thrown his weight behind. The group supports providing safe drinking water for everyone in the world (his teammate Conor Dwyer is also heavily involved).

Yesterday, the organizers of the Moscow World Cup stop announced that Lochte would be participating in that meet.

Well, to me La was boring since I live in tiny Gardena as a kid from 6 years old to 12 years old. Some nice theatre and some art museuems butLa is hype too much. Loche does surfing and so forth and probably would lose interest in swimming. there I liked Orange County and San Diego better not as big and a bit more middle class compared to La.

Or maybe he realized the Hollywood career, reality series, etc weren’t going to happen, so there was no point in moving.

I wonder if he got out to California and was self-aware enough to figure out that LA would offer far too many distractions for him outside the pool.
