UNLV’s Raftopoulou Named Mountain West Swimmer of the Week

LAS VEGAS  – Filio Raftopoulou, a freshman on the UNLV women’s swimming and diving team, picked up Mountain West Swimmer of the Week following an amazing performance this past weekend against Cal Baptist, held in Las Vegas the league office announced Tuesday morning. She is the first Rebel to earn weekly honors this season.

The Tuessalouiki, Greece native provided the highlight of the weekend for the Rebels, as she won two individual events and anchored the winning 400 free relay. She now holds the second fastest time in the MW in the 1650 free with a 17:03.96 and her 200 back is the 6th fastest in the MW (2:02.99).

NEXT FOR THE REBELS:  UNLV is back at home on Friday, November 2 when it hosts Utah at 4 pm in the Jim Reitz Pool.
