CLAREMONT, Calif. – Senior Jacque Desmond was named the SCIAC Women’s Diver of the Week for the fourth time this season, the league office announced this morning.

Desmond celebrated her Senior Day on Saturday during a tri-meet with Cal Lutheran and La Verne by sweeping both the one-meter and the three-meter events, her second sweep in SCIAC competition this year. Her efforts helped the Athenas to a pair of SCIAC wins, concluding the regular season with a perfect 8-0 record in the regular season this fall.

Desmond took the one-meter with a score of 268.85, the fifth time in six SCIAC events that she has won the one-meter. She also took the three-meter for the third time, tallying a score of 241.85 to edge out sophomore teammate Emily Bhatt.

The Athenas have now been honored eight times by the SCIAC this season, with Desmond accounting for half with her four Diver of the Week honors. Freshman Augusta Lewis has been honored as the SCIAC Swimmer of the Week twice, while freshman Ava Sealander and sophomore Mia Syme have each been honored one time.

With Kendall Hollimon‘s Men’s Diver of the Week Award, his third of the season, Desmond and Hollimon have now combined for seven Diver of the Week honors between the two programs. They have also swept the honors twice, with the first coming on Jan. 7.

CMS will be back in action this Saturday for the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational, its final event before the SCIAC Championships later this month. The CMS Diving Championships will also take place at Pomona-Pitzer on Feb. 16-17, with the SCIAC Swimming Championships taking place the following week from Feb. 23-24 in Commerce, California.
