Thirty-two matches between ranked teams are slated for the Barbara Kalbus Invitational, leading the Week 5 women’s water polo slate. All 16 of the competitors are listed among the CWPA Top 25, including each of the Top 10 teams.
#12 Loyola Marymount, #13 San Jose State, #17 Long Beach State and UC San Diego, #21 Cal State Northridge and #25 San Diego State round out the field at the event, hosted by #7 UC Irvine.
Only the Day 1 action is scheduled. Day 2 will sift out teams through 16 matches before Sunday brings eight more placing matches.
#11 UC Davis, #14 Princeton, #24 Cal Baptist and vote-getter Brown also are in action.
The week began with #21 Cal State Northridge posting a 15-8 win over Cal Lutheran on Tuesday, and #5 Hawaii besting Azusa Pacific 13-7 in Wednesday play. Both teams are part of the Barbara Kalbus field.
There are 97 matches on the Week 5 slate. Week 6 begins on Wednesday with a set of four matches.
