Inui, Simoneau Star in Solo Events at Artistic Swimming Series in Greensboro

The sixth leg of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series 2019 came to an end on Sunday evening (May 26) in Greenboro, USA, as Japan’s Olympic star Yukiko Inui and Canada’s discipline sensation Jacqueline Simoneau displayed constant and excellent results in the solo technical and solo free events.

Veteran Yukiko Inui clinched the victory in both the events with 91.8795 points for her technical routine and 93.7583 points for her free performance.

Last leg’s solo winner Jacqueline Simoneau (in Beijing) settled for silver this time in the U.S. with 88.2067 and 90.5083 points respectively.

Colombia’s Monica Arango Estrada (79.0542, solo tech) and Argentina’s Camila Maria Arregui (76.3000, solo free) completed the two podiums.

Team Japan won the two team events gold medals on offer. They secured 92.0689 and 92.2833 points for their technical and free performances, while USA and Colombia claimed silver and bronze in both events.

Japan did not stop there and added an extra gold to its Greensboro tally with the best score in the free combination (93.8167). Hungary placed second in this event with 76.8583 points, while the Magyar girls took gold in the highlight routine (75.4500).

The circuit next stops in Quebec City in Canada from May 30-June 1 and Barcelona, Spain, from May 31- June 2 before concluding in Budapest (HUN) for the inaugural Super Final from June 14-16.
