The 2019 World Championships begin in Gwangju, Korea today, though pool swimming is still another nine days away from its first session. But SwimSwam has obtained an early copy of entry lists for all events this month.
The start lists don’t have entry times listed, and there are probably changes still coming on these lists, which aren’t necessarily final. But they do give us our first glimpse at what the fields will look like in each of the 42 pool swimming events.
Bear with us, as most of the headings were quickly translated from their original Korean. If you see an error, please let us know and we’ll run back through to double-check our translations:
I didn’t realize Wikileaks is getting into competitive swimming
How many countries are entered in to the meet? how many of those countries might end up using the Universality Places since that will be subtracted from the total of 878 spots. There were supposedly 220 (out of 900) of these spots in 2016 (including some issues – https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/aug/10/olympic-swimming-credibility-doubt-questions-entry-times —- https://staging.swimswam.com/least-2-universality-swimmers-2016-olympics-shouldnt-qualify/ ).
Does anyone know how many of the 900 spots went to swimmers with B-cuts (4th level of qualification)?
Yuliya Efimova is in the 200 m Breaststroke and not Evgenia Chikunova, interesting
Masse and Ruck not swimming 50 back?
I wouldn’t if I was them.
how do I look at results without paying for a subscription…?

Nathan Adrian in the 4×200?
Is he a relay only swimmer? Athletes are registered under all the relays in that case.

Noticed alot of the british team are choosing not to fill in all of the spaces and instead focus on their main events, E.G O’Connor not entering 100 breast or even fly, Guy not entering 200 fly, McLay not in 100 free and anderson not entering 50 free. Why doesnt GBR turn to the american system and try to fill in every race?
Because GB has dumb selection policies and would rather leave someone who could “only” finish 4th at home.
I can’t move the list much beyond what is showing on the screen already. Is there a trick to it?
It’s fixed!
