Leah Neale

Leah Neale is a competitive swimmer who represents Australia internationally. She is a 2x Olympian and Olmypic medalist.

International Competition

2016 Olympic Games (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)

Neale was part of Australia’s silver medal 4×200 free relay team, leading off in 1:57.95 followed by Emma McKeon (1:54.64), Bronte Barratt (1:55.81) and Tamsin Cook (1:56.47). The Aussies finished 1.84 seconds behind the United States (7:43.03).

2017 World Championships (Budapest, Hungary)

Neale earned a bronze medal with Australia’s 4×200 relay team, swimming in the preliminary heat.

2018 Commonwealth Games (Gold Coast, Australia)

Neal was part of Australia’s gold medal winning 4×200 relay team, clocking a Games Record 7:48.04 alongside Emma McKeon, Brianna Throssell and Ariarne Titmus.

2019 World Championships (Gwangju, Korea)

Neale swam in the preliminary heat of the 4×200 relay alongside Madison Wilson, Brianna Throssell and Kiah Melverton. In the finals, the Aussies won the gold in a world record time (7:41.50) with a lineup of Ariarne Titmus, Emma McKeon, Throssell and Wilson.

2020 Olympic Games

At her 2nd Olympic Games, Neale once again swam on Australia’s 800 free relay, this time anchoring the team in a time of 1:55.85 to help Australia earn bronze and break their own Oceanian record.

2022 World Championships

Neale started her meet off in the prelims of the 400 free relay, helping Australia reach the final where they went onto win gold. Neale continued her relay duties in the 800 free relay, where she swam in the prelims to help Australia advance to the final where they won silver. Neale finished her meet in the mixed 400 free relay, swimming prelims once again on a relay that won gold in the final.
