Antonio Octaviano, who hails from King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and attends The Haverford School, has announced his intention to swim for the University of Minnesota beginning in the fall of 2020. He’ll join the class of 2024 with fellow commits Cameron Linder, Kaiser Neverman, Leo Goldblatt, Nathan Kim, and William Christenson.

Octaviano is the 2019 Eastern Interscholastic Swimming Championships 100 breast winner with 54.85 but his best time comes from 2018 Christiansburg Sectionals when he won with 54.58. As a freshman, he went 56.19 in the 100 breast at 2017 Christiansburg Sectionals to notch the #4 time in history for 13-14 boys. His current PB ranks 41st for 15-16 boys. Octaviano swims year-round with Radnor Aquatic Club. He competed in the 50 free and 100/200 breast at Winter Juniors East, placing seventh in the 100 breast and earning a PB in the 200 breast, dropping 1.6 seconds from the previous year. This summer he went best times in the 50m free at Buffalo Sectionals and in the 100 fly at the Middle Atlantic LSC Senior Championships.
At Minnesota, Octaviano will have two years of overlap with Max McHugh, the 2019 runner-up in the 100/200 breaststroke events at B1G Championships. He’ll have one year with 100 breast B-finalist/200 breast C-finalist Eitan Yudashkin.
