CHICAGO – The University of Chicago swimming & diving teams added 21 additional NCAA B-cut marks and 13 event victories on the final day of the Phoenix Fall Classic.

Over the course of the three-day home meet, the Maroons totaled three new pool records, three new school records and 53 NCAA provisional qualifying times/scores. The host school ran away in the final 10-team standings, as UChicago’s women scored 1,667 points and the men scored 1,431.5 points.

In Sunday’s action, the Maroon women accounted for 10 NCAA B-cuts. Sophomore Alice Ye won the 400-yard IM in 4:30.55. Junior Margaret Wolfson triumphed in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:12.17. Junior Gillian Gagnard swam a time of 56.49 en route to finish first in the 100-yard backstroke. Junior Nicole Lin took the 50-yard freestyle in 23.65. In the 100-yard butterfly, junior Hadley Ackerman was victorious in 56.28 while sophomore teammate Sandra Wong also put up a B-cut in the same race (56.35).

All four women’s divers achieved NCAA provisional scores in the three-meter dive – sophomore Elizabeth Cron (489.35), senior Agnes Lo (488.35), sophomore Alice Saparov (455.40) and first-year Evanna Peng (422.60).

The men’s side featured 11 NCAA B-cuts on the day. First-year Arthur Kiselnikov tallied a pair in the 100 butterfly (48.96) and 50 free prelims (20.61). Senior Reona Yamaguchi also achieved the feat twice in the 100 fly time trial (49.22) and his 200 breast victory (2:02.02). Sophomore Sam Nickson also nabbed a 200 breast B-cut in 2:03.87. First-year Justin Park captured the 400 IM in 3:59.21, senior Taye Baldinazzo won the 200-yard freestyle (1:39.07) and sophomore Martin Baffico was first in the 100 back (49.47).

Both men’s divers attained NCAA provisional scores in the one-meter dive – first-year Andrew Chen (507.90) and first-year Logan Sherwin (432.10).

Additionally, the men’s 400-yard freestyle relay earned a B-cut time of 3:00.64 in an exhibition with the quartet of Baldinazzo, Kiselnikov, junior Keda Song and senior Byrne Litschgi.
