Morgan Newell of Biglerville, Pennsylvania has announced her verbal commitment to swim for the University of New Hampshire beginning in the fall of 2020.

Newell swims year round with the Gettysburg Sharks, as well as for Gettysburg High School. Last spring at the PIAA (Pennsylvania High School) District 3 Girls AA Championships Newell took third in the 100 butterfly (57.75) and seventh in the 100 freestyle (53.70). She finished 12th in the 100 fly (58.44) at the PIAA AA Girls State Championship.

Newell will be joining a New Hampshire team that finished second at the 2019 America East Conference Championships. With her best times she would have scored in the A-final of the 100 fly as well as the B-final of the 100 free, 200 free, and 200 fly.
Newell chose New Hampshire over Amherst and University of Maine.
