Eagles Dominate Georgia Southern Diving Invite

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern Diving claimed the top two spots in all three diving events on Saturday over UNC Asheville. Katie Knight finished first in both the second round of 1-meter diving and 3-meter diving. The Eagles’ other diver Gretchen Mossburg finished first in the first round of the 1-meter dive.

In the first round of 1-meter diving, Mossburg finished with a score of 242.93 while Knight followed closely behind with a score of 239.03. In the second round, the pair flipped positions. Knight finished in first with a score of 257.33 and Mossburg followed with a score of 244.20. The final roud of diving took place on the 3-meter board. Knight finished first after scoring 252.15 and Mossburg again finished second with a score of 236.18.

“The divers had a great showing today, continuing to improve every meet and every day,” said Coach Collin Vest. “They really stepped up to a long competition day, competing three lists, and taking advantage of the ability to make improvements on their second 1 meter lists.”

The Eagles’ next meet with be at Georgia Tech on February 1.
