The 2020 MIAC S&D Championships Preview Via Livestream Andy (Video)

The 2020 MIAC Swimming and Diving Championships start tonight, with a lot of storylines on both sides. On the men’s side, it promises to be another dual between Gustavus and St. Thomas, as the Gusties return as the defending champs after breaking St. Thomas’ 4-year run, and look to start a streak of their own. On the women’s side, the stage is set for St. Catherine, after a meteoric 3-year rise, to challenge for their first title.

The meet runs Wednesday to Saturday (2/12-2/15) at the Jean Freeman Aquatic Center at the University of Minnesota. Morning sessions start at 10:30, and evening sessions start at 6:30.

Thank you for the great Live stream- Was at all the sessions but being able to go back and watch it is priceless for this mom. (I tend to look away when my son is swimming)…. and you and I both would love to see Logan swim a 500 breast, not so sure he would.

Any way to get audio working on the stream? Thanks!

Sorry about the audio! They’re getting me a different microphone for tomorrow morning, so it should be resolved by then, I hope. But it seems like the actual stream itself was working well, right?

Video worked just fine! Was missing the narrative and splits that you were reading out though. Looking forward to tomorrow. Thanks for doing this Andy.

No mention of Tim Rizzo’s very famous swimming girlfriend??????

😉

I actually have no idea who Tim Rizzo’s girlfriend is. I’m afraid I tend to see swimmers as lengths of time incarnate rather than actual people, so I’m often behind the curve on issues like these.

Haha!

Well, the hint is that Rizzo swam for Mike Parratto and Riptide prior to college

Ah, so I guess Olaf’s got the jump on her if she doesn’t end up liking Stanford…

Thanks Andy, gonna be a great meet! I have to note, though, that twice in this video you said St Kate’s got second last year, which is incorrect. Gustavus got second in an unexpected nail biter, beating St Kate’s by one point. Other than that, great preview 🙂

GO GUSTIES!!!
