Swimming greats Dawn Fraser and Stephanie Rice join the cast of Celebrity Apprentice in Australia.
Olympic swimming legend Summer Sanders appeared on Celebrity Apprentice in the US, helmed by the infamous Donald Trump, but she was the only swimmer among the music, television and B-list movie stars on the state-side series.
Australia’s apparently a different story. As reported by The Australian, the two Aussie Olympians, Fraser and Rice, appear to be the headliners.
Fraser, often described as feisty and outspoken, is not only a swimmer, she’s also politician. Still, it’s her swimming accolades that brought her fame as one of only three swimmers (Krisztina Egerszegi of Hungary and Michael Phelps of the US being the other two) to win the same Olympic event three times. Fraser swam the blue ribbon race, the 100 meters freestyle. Faser won 100 free gold at the 1956, 1960 and 1964 Olympic Games.
Rice is the 3-time Olympic gold medalist from the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, where she won the 200 and 400 IM, and captured gold as a member of the 4×200 freestyle relay.
Starring along side Fraser and Rice on Australia’s Celebrity Apprentice will be track star John Steffensen, boxing champion Jeff Fenech, The Voice diva Prinnie Stevens, Big Brother runner-up Layla Subritzky, Dancing With The Stars’ Kym Johnson, Roxy Jacenko, Prue MacSween, actor Rob Mills, TV host Peter Everett, comic Peter Berner, rocker Brian Mannix and former AFL hall-of-famer Dermott Brereton.

In the U.S., it’s just not a reality competition without Summer Sanders, Taylor Dayne, and Lou Diamond Phillips, and in case you haven’t noticed, Lou Diamond Phillips always wins.
Dawn Fraser was great. There was a b flick on her life that was shown the same time I saw it late at nite in 1992.
Psst – please censor this to France so Bobo can’t get upset.
