Trinity University (TX) Adds Kansas 6A State Finalist Emma Hagan to Roster

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Emma Hagan of Overland Park, KS has announced her decision to swim at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX beginning in the 2020-2021 season.

“I am excited to announce my commitment to swim at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. What first drew me to Trinity was the amazing academic programs and getting the opportunity to impact a solid D3 swim program. After meeting with Coach Trompeter and meeting all the members of the team, I felt that Trinity was the best fit for me. I’d like to thank my coaches at Empire: Carmen, Kyle, Marjorie, and Henry for helping me to love this sport again, as well as Coach Youker, my family, and God for all the support in helping me reach this point in my career. Go Tigers!”

In May of 2019, Hagan competed as a junior for Olathe East High School at the Kansas 6A State Championships. She placed 8th in both the 200 free (1:58.30) and the 500 free (5:25.80). Hagan also swam the breaststroke leg of her team’s 200 medley relay and she led of their 400 free relay. Olathe East placed 6th overall at the end of the meet. At the end of the 2019 season, Hagan was named to the Sunflower League 2nd Team.

At the club level, Hagan swims year-round for Empire KC Swim Club. She most recently competed at the Missouri Valley Championships where she secured personal best times in the 200 free, 100 breast, 100 and 200 fly, and 200 IM. Hagan is a Missouri Valley Swimming top 5 swimmer in the 50 and 100 free, as well as the 100 and 200 fly.

Top Times SCY:

  • 50 free – 24.30
  • 100 free – 53.24
  • 100 fly – 58.89
  • 200 free – 1:56.69
  • 200 IM – 2:12.59
  • 200 fly – 2:13.03

In the fall, Hagan will join the 2020 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Champions. All of her top times would have placed her in the A-final at the 2020 conference meet, giving her a range of events to choose from during her first season. Additionally, Hagan’s 50 free time will be tied with Morgan Reyna’s as the team’s fastest, making her a strong contender for the 200 free A-relay. She will also be the team’s 3rd fastest 100 freestyler, giving her a chance at a spot on the 400-free relay.
