Audrey Bibb Commits to Wilmington College’s Class of 2024

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

A member of the class of 2020, Audrey Bibb has announced she will be competing for NCAA Division III Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio this fall. Bibb swims for Waterloo Swimming and attends McNeil High School in Austin, Texas.

I chose to commit to Wilmington College because it felt like a place that could feel like home. The team at Wilmington is very family-oriented and the coaching staff cares for you more as a person than an athlete and wants to see you succeed in life beyond in the pool. The academics at Wilmington is very hands-on and professors want to know you on a personal level and are always available for any kind of help, so I feel like I am getting the best out of my education with this sort of environment and being able to be part of smaller classes with
more focus.

Primarily a freestyler, Bibb specializes in the shorter events. At her last meet before the beginning of quarantine, a high school District Championship meet, she swam to a 59.53 in the 100 free and 1:06.73 in the 100 back.

Top SCY Times

  • 100 back – 1:05.94
  • 50 free – 26.91
  • 100 free – 58.01
  • 200 free – 2:10.14
  • 500 free – 6:04.00

Wilmington College competes in the Ohio Athletic Conference, where they took 5th at last year’s championship meet. The meet was won by John Carroll University, who claimed their 4th straight title with a conference record 974.5 points.

The sprint freestyle events were an area of weakness for Wilmington as they only placed one swimmer, Hannah Davis in the 100 free, in either of the finals at their conference championships.

Bibb will be able to make an immediate impact on the team after her arrival on campus next fall. While she would have narrowly missed qualifying for finals at the conference championships, she would have made a large impact on their relays. Her best times would have earned her a spot on all three freestyle relays, all of which took 5th by a narrow margin.
