Good Swim Good Swimmer, Bad Swim Bad Coach, says Todd Schmitz

The video above with Olympic Swim Coach Todd Schmitz of the Colorado Stars swiming club was produced by filmmakers Christo Brock and Grant Barbeito, and it is a reminder that their Touch The Wall Kickstarter campaign is still rolling.

So far they have 291 backers and they’ve raised $33,936, however, with 29 days to go they need to meet their $110,000 goal.

At SwimSwam, we’ve rubbed shoulders with Christo and Grant  on the road at every major swim meet. While they’re veteran pros at their craft, they’ve also become emotionally invested in swimming. They love the sport. With 400 hours of footage captured profiling 2012 Olympic swim stars Missy Franklin and Kara Lynn Joyce (and SwimMAC coach David Marsh)  they have the best possible story, but the expense of editing in post production is enormous. The $110,000 goal is crucial to deliver the narrative.

Go to their Touch The Wall Kickstarter page and donate now. You can be a part of making this great film about two of swimming’s biggest stars.

Missy Franklin did get her Olympic Rings Tattoo. See it here.

I really hope these guys meet their financial goal. It would be a shame if this project was not completed.

I first heard that phrase almost 45 years ago. Stephan Hunyadfi used to say it. Mr. Hunyadfi coached Sharon Wichman a member of the 1968 Olympic team and 100 breastroke bronze medalist.
