The video above of DA Franklin, Missy Franklin’s mom, was produced by filmmakers Christo Brock and Grant Barbeito, and it is a reminder that their Touch The Wall Kickstarter campaign is still rolling.
So far they have 354 backers and they’ve raised $37,957, however, with 26 days to go they need to meet their $110,000 goal.
At SwimSwam, we’ve rubbed shoulders with Christo and Grant on the road at every major swim meet. While they’re veteran pros at their craft, they’ve also become emotionally invested in swimming. They love the sport. With 400 hours of footage captured profiling 2012 Olympic swim stars Missy Franklin and Kara Lynn Joyce (and SwimMAC coach David Marsh and Colorado Stars swim coach Todd Schmitz) they have the best possible story, but the expense of editing in post production is enormous. The $110,000 goal is crucial to deliver the narrative.
Missy Franklin did get her Olympic Rings Tattoo. See it here.
More about the Touch The Wall Kickstarter Campaign:
really surprised this hasn’t gotten more press. perhaps the timing (what with ncaa’s and march madness)…but still surprised more people haven’t stepped up. Really hope someone comes up with the money to meet the kickstarter deadline. I can’t wait for this documentary!! so excited!
